My journey with nutrition began when I was in high school- I was a quick fix, yo-yo dieting, insecure girl who used extreme measures to “fit in” with what I thought was beautiful. I played soccer and was a competitive cheerleader with very little self-esteem and what little I had was based on what others thought of me or how well I played sports . I was born with a body I couldn’t understand or appreciate, and I didn’t consider the things I was capable of, because I was blind to the reality that I had worth. Shortly after college, I became obsessed with the idea that having a healthy relationship with food would be my platform for having a healthy relationship with myself. After giving birth to two beautiful girls, and experiencing nothing short of a miracle, I quickly realized how amazing the human body is and that self-worth is multi-faceted and every-growing. This newfound identity was far from the simple idea that it exists in the mirror, in a number or based on performance/success in life.
